Hoya Kerri Reverse Variegated:
Hoya Kerri, also known as the Sweetheart Hoya or Valentine Hoya, is a species of Hoya, which is a genus of tropical, vining plants in the Apocynaceae family. Hoya plants are popular for their attractive foliage, unique flowers, and their ease of care. Hoya Kerri is native to Southeast Asia and is a popular houseplant choice due to its heart-shaped leaves and distinctive clusters of star-shaped, wax-like flowers.

Hoya Kerri, also known as Sweetheart Hoya or Valentine Hoya, is a lovely and low-maintenance houseplant. Proper care will help it thrive and produce its unique, heart-shaped leaves and clusters of star-shaped flowers. Here are some care tips for Hoya Kerri:

Light:
Hoya Kerri prefers bright, indirect light. Place it near a window with filtered sunlight, but avoid direct sunlight, especially during hot summer months, as it can scorch the leaves. Too little light may result in leggy growth and reduced flowering.

Temperature:
Hoya Kerri prefers moderate temperatures between 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C). Avoid exposing it to temperatures below 50°F (10°C), as this can harm the plant.

Watering:
Allow the top inch (2.5 cm) of the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's crucial not to let the plant sit in standing water. During the growing season (spring and summer), water regularly, but reduce watering during the dormant season (fall and winter).

Humidity:
Hoya Kerri appreciates higher humidity levels, but it can tolerate average indoor humidity. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves or placing a humidity tray nearby.

Soil:
Plant Hoya Kerri in a well-draining potting mix. A mix specifically formulated for succulents or cacti works well. The soil should allow excess water to drain away easily.

Fertilizer:
During the active growing season (spring and summer), you can feed your Hoya Kerri with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half-strength. Apply the fertilizer every 4-6 weeks. Avoid fertilizing during the dormant season.

Pruning:
Pruning is generally not necessary for Hoya Kerri. However, you can pinch back leggy growth to encourage bushier growth.

Potting and Repotting:
Hoya Kerri prefers to be slightly root-bound, so repot only when the plant has outgrown its current pot. Repotting is best done in the spring, using fresh potting mix and a pot that's just slightly larger than the current one.

Trellis or Support:
As a vining plant, Hoya Kerri benefits from a trellis, moss pole, or other support to climb on. This helps it maintain an attractive, bushier shape and prevents the long vines from becoming too tangled.

Pests and Diseases:
Hoya Kerri is relatively resistant to pests and diseases. However, like all houseplants, it can occasionally be affected by mealybugs, spider mites, or aphids. Regularly inspect your plant for any signs of infestation and treat it promptly if necessary.
